日前在 Raspberry Pi 基金會推出 Raspberry Pi 2 時，微軟也允諾將為期推出專屬的 Windows 10 作為其嵌入式平台布局；隨著微軟舉辦 Windows Build 開發大會，微軟也正式宣布推出專屬於 Raspberry Pi 2 的 Windows 10 IoT Core Preview 供開發者免費下載使用。

除此之外，微軟也宣布與另一個夥伴 Arduino 合作，成為 Arduino 首個官方認證的系統平台，同時推出 Windows Remote Arduino 以及 Windows Virtual Shield for Arduino ；微軟透過與市場上兩個炙手可熱的開發平台合作，試圖以免費的方式吸引開發者、創客、嵌入式系統製造商加入 Windows 10 行列，使 Windows 10 能夠在各式裝置普及。
