根據中國爆料者 Ice Universe 冰宇宙爆料指稱，三星下半年的折疊旗艦機將有較多變化，兩款旗艦機都將採用新式的水滴絞鍊，此外 Galaxy Z Flip5 的封面螢幕將顯著增加，而 Galaxy Fold5 在折疊後將更薄且重量更輕盈。 Galaxy Z Flip5 與 Galaxy Z Fold5 預計將皆搭載 Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy ，同時具備 IPX8 防水，但防塵能力可能由於絞鍊與摺疊機構仍難以有明顯突破，此外， Ice Universe 也暗示將採用全新的螢幕觸控技術。

具 Ice Universe 的說法， Galaxy Z Flip5 除了採用 3.4 吋封面螢幕以外，螢幕比例將是非常接近正方形的 1:1.038 ，與 Oppo N2 Flip 的狹長比例截然不同；另外內螢幕尺寸可能不變，不過將具備更窄的邊框，同時受惠新式水滴絞鍊，螢幕的摺痕將更不明顯。

Galaxy Z Fold5 的主螢幕尺寸維持相同的 6.2 吋螢幕，不過機身將比原本窄 0.2mm ，意味著螢幕邊框也會比現行的 Galaxy Z Fold4 窄一點點，另外傳聞機身折疊後的厚度將自 15.8mm 縮減至 13.xmm ，同時重量減少到 254 克，此外也同樣藉由採用新式水滴絞鍊減少螢幕摺痕。
