微軟甫由副董事暨總裁 Brad Smith 在推特公布簽署將 Xbox 供應給任天堂的 10 年合約，又由 Xbox 品牌負責人 Phil Spencer 宣布與 NVIDIA 達成相同的 10 年協議，將在 10 年內持續提供旗下 Xbox 遊戲予 GeForce Now 遊戲串流服務，同樣也強調包括還在努力與各國監管機關周旋收購案的 Activision Blizzard 包括 Call of Duty 在內的 PC 遊戲。

雖然目前遊戲串流服務相較遊戲機仍屬小眾，不過依舊是微軟寄予厚望的遊戲服務，故也發展了 Xbox Cloud Gaminf 服務，此次與 NVIDIA 達成協議也是進一步避免在 Activision 收購案被各國主管機關杯葛內容平台獨佔； NVIDIA 的 GeForce Now 可說是遊戲串流服務的先行者，但其營運模式與微軟 Xbox Cloud Gaming 、亞馬遜 Luna 略有不同， NVIDIA GeForce Now 在各國多未自行設立資料中心，而是與當地電信業者合作(如在台灣是與台灣大哥大)，同時玩家須自行持有遊戲所有權，比較像是租賃雲端主機的概念。
We have signed a 10 year agreement with NVIDIA that will allow GeForce NOW players to stream Xbox PC games as well as Activision Blizzard PC titles, including COD, following the acquisition. We´re committed to bringing more games to more people – however they choose to play.
