雖然當前搭載高通新世代處理器的 Snapdragon 855 的裝置才陸續上市，不過隨著預期高通將在年底(沒意外可能又會是在夏威夷)發表新版 Snapdragon 旗艦平台，現在也開始有關於下一代平台 Snapdragon 865 的爆料。據稱 Snapdragon 865 又將轉由三星以 7nm 製程生產，而且提供整合 5G 與非整合 5G 兩種版本，另外據稱將支援新世代的 LPDDR5X 記憶體與 UFS 3.0 顆粒。
Snapdragon 865 is what Qualcomm employees call the next gen high-end SoC (SM8250). There are two variants: Kona + Huracan. Both with support for LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.0. One likely with, one without integrated 5G modem (SDX55) - I guess. Also no clue which is the one w/ 5G in it.

根據爆料指出，型號 SM8250 的 Snapdragon 865 有 Kona 與 Hurracan 兩個代號的版本，其中一版會是整合 Snapdragon X55 5G (或是更升級版本)的版本，另外雖然 Snapdragon 855 由台積電取得訂單，不過 Snapdragon 865 又再度回到三星，並將以 7nm 製程生產，可推論的是台積電的 7nm 製程有可能忙於 AMD 的 CPU 與 GPU 訂單，亦或是三星半導體開出優惠的價格。
