假日閒暇時，三五好友相約到 KTV 唱唱歌，已成了現代人的一大樂事。不過，你對音樂的了解有多少呢？你知道一首歌的「主歌、副歌」英文怎麼說嗎？要形容一個人在演唱過程中「忘詞、走音」，英文又該如何表達呢？今天就跟著希平方一起認識一下吧！
● 歌曲架構
一首歌往往包含數個段落，常見的歌曲段落有像是：
◎ intro 前奏
◎ verse 主歌
◎ pre chorus 導歌：主、副歌的連接段落
◎ chorus 副歌
◎ bridge 橋樑：重複主、副歌之間插入的過渡段落，曲風常有別於原曲
◎ outro 尾奏、歌曲結尾
A: I heard you are writing a new song these days. Is it done?
（我聽說你這幾天在寫新歌。完成了嗎？）
B: Not yet. The verse and the chorus have been written out, but the bridge is still on the way. I’ll let you know when I finish.
（還沒。主歌跟副歌已經寫好了，但還沒寫好橋段。寫好時告訴你。）
● 歌曲要素
一首歌，光有架構不夠，還要有詞曲等歌曲要素：
◎ lyric 歌詞
She lost the singing contest because she forgot the lyrics to her song.
（她輸掉了歌唱比賽，因為她忘詞了。）
◎ melody 旋律、曲調
一首歌的旋律由節奏（rhythm）跟音調（pitch）構成。
Jane wrote beautiful lyrics that matched the existing melody perfectly.
（Jane 寫出了一段優美歌詞，跟現有的旋律完美搭到了一起。）
◎ rhythm 節奏
拍子（beat）是音樂基本單位，節拍（meter）是拍子強弱表現，從中設計變化就形成了節奏。
A: I don’t know if I should change the beats here to eighth notes.
（我不知道該不該把這裡的拍子改成八分音符。）
B: Why don’t you tap out the rhythm to see if you like it?
（你為什麼不把節奏敲出來，看看自己喜不喜歡呢？）
至於節奏感，則可以說 sense of rhythm。
Singing without music is difficult; you may easily fall behind or speed up if you don’t have an acute sense of rhythm.
（清唱很難；如果你沒有敏銳的節奏感，很容易慢拍或搶拍。）
◎ pitch 音調
音的音調有高低之分，常用音符（note）標記。如果要表示音準好，可以說 on pitch、in tune，走音的話則可以說 off pitch、out of tune。
I can't believe Eric is Steven’s big brother. Eric could sing a song almost always on pitch, while Steven is so off pitch that I could hardly recognize the song.
（我不敢相信 Eric 是 Steven 的哥哥。Eric 一首歌唱下來音準幾乎都是完美的，但 Steven 五音不全到我都快認不出歌了。）
Pitch 也可以用來表示一個人的音準能力，如絕對音感是 perfect pitch，相對音感是 relative pitch。
Lily has a wonderful gift for music. She has perfect pitch, and her range is remarkably wide.
（Lily 的音樂天賦驚人。她有絕對音感，而且音域非常廣。）
◎ harmony 和聲
演唱或演奏過程中，同時出現而能創造悅耳和諧效果的不同音高。樂器和弦則稱作 chord。
